Well, would you rather she store your food in Ziploc bags that go in the trash or Tupperware that is guaranteed for life?
I have Tupperware that was my grandma's and use it to freeze food and refrigerate food. Which means I don't buy storage bags that end up in landfills. It means I don't waste food. I carry my lunch everyday in the same container that I have had since I was 7. Not a paper sack that gets thrown out every day.
I don't think you are very smart. If you were, you would realize that Tupperware is not biodeg. for a reason so you can use it over and over eliminating the need for containers that do get tossed into landfills. And hey, that computer you are typing on, not biodeg. either.
And neither is the rubber ducky you have according to your profile. And the white out you ate not good for the environment, or the candy wrappers from your Halloween candy, or the cups from your Jamba Juice.
And what about the tree that died for your puzzle? Guess that makes you a hypocrite.

hmmn, actually even though it isn't that great for the environment it is using up fossil fuels (oil) which means that it can't be burnt and turned into carbon dioxide. So she is actually helping the environment in a way...
Another way of looking at it is that it takes relatively little in the way of resources to make the plastic in a Tupperware container. If it was made of metal you would require alot more energy to make it - which is alot more resources.
Stay away from the environmental trends - they are mostly nonsense

It's Tupperware-you had it right the first time. Tupperware is pretty tough. I love it. Just think, if she used paper stuff or something to store things in she'd be throwing it out all the time. Tupperware lasts for years on end because its reusable and durable.

well, since you're an environmentalist, i guess you should at least know why people are preferring not to use plastics. it's because the earth replenishes things above the ground much faster than things below. not particularily because of the fact that plastic is not biodegradable--the damn things end up in a land fill anyways. and no, i'm not an environmentalist--far from it...i have much better things to do with my time than to hug a tree (pun intended).

But Tupperware IS reusable again and again.
Think of all the disposable containers, plastic wrap and aluminium foil she ISN'T using.

My mom used to go to "tupperwear parties" too when I was young. She came home acting really silly and walking all messed up. She always woke up and had a private "porcilain party" in the bathroom. As I got older I realised she was just going out to get drunk because she hated to be around me... there never was any tupperwear in our house :(
