I purchased a Coach handbag off of ebay over 2 weeks ago. The seller wrote "Authentic" in the description.. but she also wrote "All sales are final"... When I recieved this bag I took it to a Coach store and they said that it is not authentic... Do you know if I would be entitled to a refund since she lied in the description?? She also stated "Excellent used condition" and the bag had 2 red stains on it. She refused to refund me so i had to file a claim through paypal.. just wondering what the outcome might be..

Thanks for all of your help

Your best bet is to do what you've done so far, and that's to file with paypal.

You can file a "SNAD" (significantly not as described) with ebay. Based on it NOT being an authentic handbag..that alone will win it and probably get your shipping refunded as well. BUT...ebay will probably ask for a third party opinion. :(

I know, because I had some idiot ebayer send a broken peice of machinery, and ebay asked for an third party opinion. The opinion/aprasial cost more than what I would receive back via ebay. :(

Although I agree with you about the stains...
Everyone's opinion of "excellent used condition" is different.

I'd send her one more email asking to "please refund my money. The item I received is not the item you described". Be nice and professional. If all else fails, do the SNAD.

Best of Luck - Sorry to hear about the problem

Did you pay with PayPal? As a buyer that pays with PayPal, you have buyer protection from this kind of thing. Sadly, it's not uncommon. If you see a buyer that refuses PayPal, it may be a reason to raise an eyebrow. In your case, it sounds like the seller should not be allowed to sell on eBay because of the poor integrity of products and inaccurate descriptions. Because PayPal and eBay are the same company, they will work with each other to resolve assuming you paid with PayPal. For all future purchases, be sure to do this!

Even if you get a 100% agreement on Yahoo! Answers, it won't change how the real verdict is.

Why don't you just file the dispute? It's free.

I have filed 2 before and got my money back both times. (I didn't get my products and couldn't contact the sellers.)

do you have in writing that it is not authentic? and did her auction say "authentic coach" or just authentic? i'm guessing you have a good chance since you paid with paypal and hopefully w/ a checking account.

If someone sold you fake stuff they are going to get in some kind of trouble. Report it.

You will win. You will have to send the bag to them to see. It will take a long time.
