You can make them do stuff like detention, making them stay after school and forcing them to do homework in front of you.
Or you can do the classic "Leave the classroom and come back when I tell you to." Kind of hyppocritical considering these kinds of students don't like staying in the classroom, but they will listen lol.
If all else fails, you can threaten to call their parents.

What I do...I tell them once not to do something or the proper way to act...if they do it again I stop the entire class until the one student pays attention. Peer pressure can work both ways, most students don't like constantly "stopping" class for one student...it's worked a time or three for me. If the problem persists call the parents in to "visit" without telling the child...sneak them in to the back of the room or let them listen outside the door. There is always detention, or the taking away of privledges...even grades. The point I guess is the student wants attention be it bad or good...don't submit. You have control of your classroom, set the boundaries, once you do you have to follow thru with the disipline side of it, be consistant...if all else fails ask your Dean or Principal for some assistance in this area

1.Get them to seat in front.
2.Ensure that they are occupied with their work and not idle.3
3.Give extra work to them if they finish assigned work early.
4. Give them some responsibilities, example class captain, book monitors,
5.To assist the teacher distribute books and collect class work.
6.Praise them when they do something good .

Well it depends... when I work in inner city schools, using the "I am going to phone your parents" never works, or if they are older kids. Usually the good ol' detention thing works, but make sure you never let them think they have one. Like if they get a biting comment in about your big butt or your mistake on the board, just laugh it off.... never let their comments get to you or else they will just keep doing it.

I tell them to stop, or else I'll ask their mom to hire a babysitter to assist in the class. Treat them as all other students, not any better or not any worse. If bad behavior doesn't stop ask them to leave the class.

try killing with kindness and getting on thier case. challange thier sarcasim. draw them in to conversation about the work .motivate them. most of the tough ones are just plain bored. if your wasting each others time time him/ her so and tell them to switch to a different class... that'll shake em up.

Break out the Corporal Punishment.... either that or try using peer pressure against them. If the other students don't want them to do it, they may stop doing it.
