that's a beautiful dwarf licorice gourami which stays pretty small for starters
"not so difficult to keep alive
But i guess it will be hard for you to find other fish which have the same requirements as this beautiful species
because they need pH around 5.0-6.5 and very acid water, but they're not aggressive
A warmer tank with peat substrate and loads of Java Moss overhangs + Anubias at the bottom (tied to driftwood) for shelter and floating Horned Ferns, together with a black aquarium background tucks them in nicely
Clean, aged water is the key and forget about water conditioners or black-water extracts - keep it simple (and Warm!) and maintenance consistent
They simply love insect larve of various kinds, like bloodworms and especially black mosquito larvae.
Tubifex? It's poison"
Hope that helps
Good luck

Gouramis, if acclimated with 2 or 3 other fish, tend to be rather docile. Problems occur when a lone fish is joined by single other fish every few days. I think it has to do with territory at that point.

Not aggressive. Very good community fish. Gouramis are peaceful.

Gourami type fish. It is friendly. Some have a tendency to be shy and stay hidden in plants.

If u have guppies i wouldnt put gouramis in the tank. If u still wanna put i will introduce only one gourami at a time, as they could be aggressive.
