You'll know when you start nesting ,which is when you want to clean everything ,that your getting really close to giving birth. Just enjoy and try to get lots of sleep because once that baby comes it's over for the next 18 yrs.

I know your miserable. The end of pregnancy makes you feel like crap and you are excited to meet your new baby. There is no set week for you to have your baby. 39 weeks is actually full term and your due date can be off 2 weeks before or after. Try taking unisom or benadryl for sleep. It is safe during pregnancy. Ginger tea will help with the heartburn, and try elevating your pillows so you are not sleeping flat, and not eating right before laying down. Don't let them talk you into an induction because the risk of c-section is around 30% and it is a long hard road of being in the hospital, strapped to the fetal monitors so you can't move, and waiting for them to let you have an epidural because inductions usually take a long time (sometimes even a few days). Try things like walking, sex, red raspberry leaf tea, and taking evening primrose oil pills to induce your labor at home safely. I know it's not what you want to hear, but it will be easier on you (shorter labor) and baby (less complications) if you let baby come when she is ready. She will be here before you know it!

The statistical average for a first time pregnancy is to go 41 weeks 1 day...or was it 2 days? Anyway, more than 41 and less than 42. LOL I learned that in my Bradley classes. However, in our class there were 4 women. All first time pregnancies. One went 2 weeks past her due date. Two of us gave birth 2 weeks early and I believe the third was right on time. Like they say...everyone is different. The symptoms you describe really sound like the "warning signs" that it is coming described in my labor classes. Good Luck!

I have no idea what the stats are. I suppose it would have alot to do with coutry, state, city, etc. All I can tell you is that I went into labor two days before I was due (15 hr labor), one of my friends went into labor at 39 weeks to the day(6 hr labor), and another girl i know went into labor 10 days early (18 hr labor).

Believe me, it will not be a thing you're wondering about. You'll know when you're in labor! Good luck!!! Congrats! I'm so excited for you!!! :)

I had all of your same symptoms (contractions, pressure, no hunger, system cleaning itself out and losing my mucus plug) 3-4 days before I had my daughter and I had my daughter 4 days before my due date. I'm guessing you'll be going into labor any day now. Good luck!

I didn't have any of those symptoms with my first pregnancy. I woke up in hard labor and had my baby 7 days before my due date. It's different for everyone. It sounds like your close though. Good luck!

70% go on or between 40-41 weeks.
only 5% go early
and 25% go after 41 weeks.
Stats are for labours starting naturally, not scheduled c-sections or inductions. they are a whole different kettle of fish!
all stats are approximate to my knowledge...best of luck, sounds like me when I had my second child but I didn't deliver till 40+3days. induced with first day after due date

I think most first time moms are over due I think it is like 41 weeks. I was 39 and they induced me because of complications, but they whole time I was preggo they kept telling me not to expect him anytime before 40 weeks because most first time moms are late. But most dr's won't let you go after 42 weeks.
