Please disregard those who suggest your question is off-topic. Gender issues includes a range of issues concerning sexual identity, not just feminism.
Unfortunately, bigotry and intolerance abound. Often in unexpected places.
EDIT
Some have suggested Fashion sections and others LGBT. You certainly should explore those sections and perhaps your questions may be better addressed there.
But I would like to point out, cross-dressing is not the same as sexual orientation nor is it the same as transgendered. In fact, it is specifically about gender roles, which makes this forum entirely appropriate.

Stacey, you might be in the wrong section for supportive responses to this type of question.
They are usually a friendly crowd over in the LGBT section, and might have more expertise also (see link below).
Rude answers are usually either from some hater or a bored adolescent, and are really not worth troubling yourself about!
Questions about clothes are usually pretty popular ~ we all wear them and we've all got some sort of an opinion, so please do try again in the LGBT section, and ignore those who don't contribute positively!
Cheers :-)
PS: I just looked at your original question, and yeah I can see why Fashion and Accessories might have seemed the logical place. But not all the answers were rude ~ several were very useful. It's about filtering out the negative and getting your questions into the best possible category for useful responses.
EDITED to say: I didn't mean to suggest you *should not* post here, it's simply this section has substantially more theoretical type Q&As than actual practical advice and the chance to share life experiences Q&As.

I'm not sure why you got "rude" answers as I did not see your original post. Cross dressers might not be a topic that some would like to address. Personally, I do not understand it, but I can appreciate that it is something that you do and something that I do not do.
I wasn't aware that cross dressers wanted to be "pretty". I thought it was something to do in fun and not to be taken seriously. However, if it is your mission to be looked at as a woman, then I would have to evaluate how you dress and look as a woman.
There are many men who do this and are successful and convincing. I would ask a good friend if you are such a candidate. I would also ask why you wish to do this; although that is not the point.
You may get rude answers because there are many who do not subscribe to what you do. I judge no one; lest I be judged myself. While I do not understand your wanting to cross dress, I neither agree nor disagree with your decision.
So, let me be one who supports you in whatever you choose to do. I trust you are good at it and it probably entertains many people.

Because people are just waaaay too judgmental these days. They think everyone else should think and act like they do, and if they don't, then they think that gives them the right to be rude.
I think people have forgotten that the person on the other side of the computer has feelings too, and that they are human and have emotions.
I think common courtesy in our society has pretty much gone out the window. They need to start teaching the Golden Rule, and Citizenship in school again. I also think the media, and all the opinionated mean reporters on some of these news channels, like Fox news, don't help the situation either. Just look what they are doing to Brittney Spears.
Sad, sad, and pathetic.

Most people are just ignorant about the subject.. cross dressing doesn't necessary mean you are gay, and if you are that is fine.. but there are people who like to cross dress and that is fine too. many people just like the way the close feel on them, and like the way they look in the close. It is your choice, and something that is a private matter to you. Probably the less people you tell about it right now, the better off you will be, there are places you can go and cross dress, and clubs you can join for cross dressers, you will just need to do some serious research on it.. Make sure it is not a hoax and you are getting yourself into something that could cause you harm.. If you are gay, and are thinking about the big operation, please do your homework on it, and find the best Dr. there is out there for you !! don't go to a butcher that will ruin your life.. good luck to you..

you're asking the rude human beings in the event that they techniques being rude? Or did I misinterpret something? i does not think of the guy perpetrating that habit could take any offense in somebody treating them an analogous way. extremely they are going to think of they're invincible or above such assaults. I answer all questions interior an analogous way. i could be blunt and irrelevant at circumstances, yet my person-friendly motive is often certainly one of helpfulness and that i've got faith human beings can tell the variation. There are a lot of rude insecure people in the world. Just ignore them. And, about what you said . . . "I realize that I won't look as beautiful as a normal woman" . . . hogwash. Keep exploring what looks and feels feminine on you. Back in the early 1900's, the entertainer, Florenz Ziegfeld became famous for his fabulous stage productions and his beautiful "Ziegfeld Girls". He spared no expense in creating, through fashion and hairstyles and make-up, a stunning vision of womanhood for the stage. He once ordered expensive French silk lace panties for his "Girls" as part of their costumes and someone asked him why the girls couldn't just wear any old regular panty under their costumes, that the audience would never even see the silly expensive silk lace panties, and Ziegfeld replied,"The audience may not know. But, the GIRLS will know that they are wearing the prettiest panties in the world and they will feel more beautiful. And, that beauty will glow in their faces and in their movements." Find the fabrics and fits and colors and such that make YOUR face and movements glow with femininity

Because - just perhaps - your personal quirks having nothing to do with Women's Studies, which is a scholarly area of investigation?
In other words, off-topic and irrelevant.
Look at your post (above):
It's: "I want I want I want I want...".
This is not the right forum for this type of material AND it also contravenes Yahoo rules (as does posting this question). You must understand that there is already so much crap on this forum that adding innappropriate content only compounds the problem.
edit: to quote another poster
"Gender issues includes a range of issues concerning sexual identity"
YES - and there are forums specially devoted to this. THIS POSTER'S QUESTIONS - however - are invariably NOT ABOUT THE POLITICS OF GENDER AT ALL: rather, they concern HAIRSTYLES, MAKE-UP AND FASHION. G&WS is NOT the appropriate forum for questions concerning 'your most flattering colour' or the best hairstyle choice for the shape of your face!
edit: Gnu.
Here is a history of questions the poster has asked. Do they belong in G&WS - or is somewhere else more appropriate?
1. How can i dress up to turn "heads"?

2. How can I dress up slu*ty?

7. Mini vs. Micro Mini skirt difference?

It appears Stacy knows which are the right forums for her fashion questions, yet is offended if she gets offensive answers when she posts those same questions on the wrong format.
Why might this be?

Some subjects are more likely to get rude answers than other subjects will.
Unfortunately, cross-dressing is one of them. Its one that is likely to get teenagers or anyone else who feels the need to be rude to make those remarks.
Maybe, too, people sometimes think the type of question you've asked is another teenager thinking up the most "unique" question s/he can to put people on.

I'm sorry that anyone hurt you. I'm 17 years old and straight, but I still relate to you in that I also have gotten rude responses that make me feel like nothing. If they have nothing nice to say, they shouldn't post anything. My advice: don't use too much eyeliner or blush, because then you might look more like a mannequin than a naturally beautiful woman. and don't wear too much pink, try lavender or something. idk, i think pink is what girls wear when they have little fashion sense and think that pink will take care of the problem.
