Sure if you are not going to do any hardcore math processing or gaming or serious graphics apps. If your needs are primarily word processing or light computing then this processor would probably do the trick.

The problem with the Celeron is it is a stripped down processor with very limited cache. The originals were full chips that failed QC and would be sent out for removing the cache link on the chip. Do not recommend it for anything except surfing, light word processing and e-mail.

Celeron M440 (Yonah core, 1mb L2 cache) is a pretty decent 32bit mobile processor. It is also quite efficient at 27W TDP. It should be good enough for many office applications, internet, downloading & MP3. Since it is usually paired with cheap integrated graphics, it is not good for games.

Only if you don't intend to use your computer for anything medium-heavy. Light processing would be okay.
It can't handle games, multi-tasking, or anything slightly heavy well. Even with lots of RAM a Celeron won't handle much.
