If you have a friend who is travelling in another country, but maybe you haven't heard about them for some time, how can you find out if anything has happenned to them.

Good question. Were they supposed to contact you at a certain time and haven't checked in? Or has it just been a day or so since they dropped you an email?
If you're seriously concerned about this person's safety, you can try contacting the embassy or consulate in that country. They may be able to help.

Assuming you're talking about a US citizen. Otherwise, just do a search for their home country's embassy and/or consulate.
Other than that, I don't know what to tell you. Hope you find them well and happy.

and would there be any problem calling one of that person's FAMILY to find out if any of THEM might have heard anything????
