I think you know the site I am talking about. The one that called a four-star general a traitor. Anyway, I tried to ask the following question:

Does (that website) help or hurt the Democratic party?

Moveon.org is funded by liberal [dim]ocrats, such as the Clinton Crime family, as Mark Levin so eloquently puts it, lol.

To answer your question: I think it helps Americans see what the liberals are really about, and that is ruining our country to the point that they can step in and take total control without people even noticing.

And I know for a fact I will get some thumbs down for this, but that's okay, because I know it will be from left-wing nutcases who don't do any research on any of the subjects they believe themselves to be "experts" on. All they do is listen to the democrat talking points and say,"Wow, I didn't know that. Hmm, well they said it, so it must be true."

That's nothing. Try asking a question in the Environment category about why certain glaciers aren't melting and why new glaciers are forming.

The best I can figure is there's a bunch of libs running around reporting any questions they don't like, guess they think it makes them good little fascists, and people at Y!A just delete whatever is reported a few times without checking the content.

As for the question, we'll have to see. The NYT is moving even further to left (if you can believe it) and sites like MoveOn.org and CodePink and MediaMatters keep holding the spotlight. We won't really know what moderate Democrats think about it until election time. At some point though you gotta figure at least some Dems will wake up and realize what their party has become. Just imagine how the libs will attack those people. Maybe we'll get Neo-Neo-Con which will be ultimately shortened to Neon-Con (ironic thing is most libs won't get that because they have no idea what neo conservative really means).

Both. I think the organization encourages political participation by those who share its views, and who will most likely vote for a Democrat over a Republican. It also hurts the party by driving away more moderate voters who perceive the organization as an accurate representation of the party as a whole, and will automatically connect the actions of the organization (such as calling the general a traitor) to the Democratic party.

It is probably due to not so much the content involved in your question but more likely due to the way you worded such a question in way that is deemed to violate Y!A guidelines.

Moveon.org is a political activisit entity that is no way directly involved in the affairs of the Democratic Party. As for the ad in question, there is not one single instance of Moveon.org ever referring to Gen. Patraeus as a traitor.

The "Betray Us?" tagline is simply to place emphasis on the General's about-face on Iraq. He had stated that he would give an unbiased, objective analysis of the situtation in Iraq. However, he instead, cowered to pressure from the White House and twisted the facts in order to make it look like there was actual progress being made when, in reality, the surge had accomplished little.

"Hatred for the President is not a reason to devote your life to one party or the other..." Is that why the Republicans treated Clinton with such respect? Your question is to vague. How do you define the "far left" or "extreme left"? Is that any democrat? Is anyone who disagrees with your position or with the war in Iraq "misinformed"? The opposite is also true. There are a lot of people who support Bush simply because he is a republican.

Move.org is not part of the Democratic Party. It's a mouthpiece for Americans. It is funded by citizens. It doesn't make or give money to the Democrats. In fact, they aren't too impressed with the Democrat Congress right now. But it sure is something to contend with, being able to raise half a million in a day, just from citizen contributions.

The problem is that moveon.org is using deep pockets to hijack the Democrat party. They are becoming the de facto mouthpiece of the party in the eyes of people with moderate/conservative viewpoints. The fact that none of the presidential candidates (Democrat's) are distancing themselves from the organization is contributing to this view.

Edit:

Megan, show me a single candidate who was not a Democrat or other form of liberal extremist who gets support from moveon.org? You can't. In the end, they will support a Democrat they don't agree with. Their agenda is nothing more than socialist crap and the site is run by prevaricative punks. They would wet their pampers if they were forced to back up their obfuscation of facts or face the prospect of having a shoe shop constructed in their gluteal region.

Edit:
alyson c: General Petraeus did not make the troop recommendations for the invasion of Iraq. He was commanding the 101st when the invasion began. You can't back up your remarks just as moveon.org could not back up theirs. It's just "flap the yap" without regard to having anything to support your position. What he did was assume command in 2007, supervise the push and report the results.

Move.on was appropriate to exercise their free speech right and call a spade, a spade. Betray us he did. Anyone who can write the manual on counter-insurgency after the vietnam war, only to refuse to demand the appropriate number of forces (some 600,000 according to his own manuals calculations) does not deserve the respect so many blindly bestow upon him. He has political aspirations, for which he will comprimise his moral integrity as a man and soldier.

And Neo-con means Ultra-Conman

Doesn't hurt the Dem's anymore than bathroom Craig, Annie "perfecter of Jews", or Rush "the burger / pill junkie" hurts the republicans.

Shame, I don't know what website you're talking about but it figures because Yahoo is owned by a company that is part of the "good ol' boy" network of the neocon far right...
