My printer is way way out of colored ink. Epson Stylus C80

Well i guess today it officially hit zero, but i haven't printed anything in color in a long time and i'm tryign to print a report in black and white.

There is already nothing in color in my report and i even set the print options for black and white , but it won't let me print because i'm out of magenta and yellow.

I shook the cartridges which does have a little bit of something in it. ANy way around this.

Yes, replace the cartridges. The printer underlays colour ink when printing in black. This is to darken and sharpen the image as well as to preserve the integrated print head.

Epson smart chips their cartridges. You have a little green chip on the front that acts as an on/off switch. When the cartridges is empty or absent it automatically sends an off signal to the printer preventing it from printing.

The only way around this is to replace the cartridges.

shade inkjet printers have been furniture in maximum small agencies for some years. they're decrease priced (decrease than $60 each and every now and then), final a pair of years and each physique makes use of them. so they might desire to be the appropriate workplace techniques, appropriate? possibly no longer. once you do the maths on printing, inkjets might desire to value you an outstanding deal extra suitable than you already know.

I tossed out a nearly new Brother printer for that exact same behavior. I don't know if there is a way around it with your Epson.

I got an HP to replace it. I may never switch again.
