can i find out exactly what my credit card has been used for. ie not £10 spent at asda,but on what?

The receipt Asda issues you with gives a breakdown of the items in your transaction. That's why you should keep your receipts. The credit card simply shows the total amount spent on that single transaction.

I'd imagine not. They'd appear on your bank statement as well else.
