I have played for 15 years, and I still feel relaxed and peaceful when I hear it's music, weather its me playing, or listening to others play.

I loooooove violin music! You can get a wide range of emotions from violin music, from frolicking in the meadows to something evil is about to happen in a scary movie. It soothes my soul and relaxes me.

I love violin the most. I used to play but couldn't devote the time necessary to get good. My favorite violinist was Isaac Stern. His interprettion of Brahms Concerto in D Major was my soul stopper.
The violin concertos by anyone are my favorite pieces of music. And there are so many great ones. Some of the cello pieces when adapted for violin are quite wonderful.
Keep playing. It will sustain you in this life when all else fails.
A violin is the sound that the heart and soul makes.

OMG! depends who's playing it!!! lol I have been studying violin for a month and it sounds as if I am killing my poor cat!!!
I LOVE violin and hope to some day will feel relaxed when I play it, in the mean time I enjoy other players.

Believe it or not, a couple weekends back I heard a young band play religious rock and a violin was part of it! They were great :)
