Lembeeno,
I don't know of any song that fills all of your needs. I think you might have to put together a medley of songs.
The sad song to start with is from somewhere around 1967, so it's not getting a lot of play any more. I've seen people dance to this song and make it an amazing song. It has long and short versions that were released. It's called: "MacArthur Park." I cannot remember the name of the singer.

This is a little tough not knowing what kind of dancing you do. Here are a few songs that may fit the bill:
"Jealousy Tango" - The Three Tenors
"Book of Love" - Peter Gabriel
"Turn Off the Lights" - Nellie Furtado

Depending on what style of dance you are dancing too....
-Storm - Lifehouse
-Dancing - Elisa
-Stand In The Rain - Superchick
-When your gone - Avril Lavigne
-Dearly Loved - Jimmy Needham
-Everything - Lifehouse
I think these songs are more for a lyrical type of dancing. If your not doing a lyrical dance...you can still listen to them because they are amazing. Good luck with your solo!

You could dance to a Beatles song from Across The Universe's soundtrack. There's at least 50 songs and they're all amazing.

Why don't you tell us what type of dance you're doing? Then I'll answer.
Okay in any case here's this:
"When I'm Gone" or "Toy Soldier" by Eminem
"Changes" by Tupac
these are both on youtube, and not your typical "crappy rap"
There are so many songs that fit your description..."sad yet expressive and filled with life," but they don't seem danceable to.

Listen to "Sparkling Queen Areola"
