I heard that there was one state that seceded from the confederacy to join the union in 1863. Anyone tell me please? It's kind of urgent.

Technically, West Virginia did not secede from the Confederacy.

When the government of Virginia purported to leave the Union, the western counties of Virginia set up a rump legislature loyal to the Union and continued to send representatives to the U.S. Congress. (It should be noted that the U.S. Congress never recognized that any of the Confederate states were not part of the Union, a position later affirmed by the U.S. Supreme Court after the Civil War.)

In 1863, in an act that was constitutionally dubious at best, this rump legislature, acting on behalf of the entire state of Virginia, consented to the division of Virginia into two states -- one consisting of the counties engaged in the rebellion and one consisting of the loyalist counties. The loyalist counties then became the state of West Virginia. This consent was required under Article IV, Section 3, clause 1 which prohibits the division of a state without the consent of its legislature.
