he died on october 18 and i wanted to ask this earlier but i wasn't sure if anyone on here has heard of him. The guy made great music him and bob marley we're about the same. After dropping his kids off too his realatives house, his car got hijacked and he was shot to death in south africa. I know the murder rates are pretty high over their but i mean the guy is a one of the reggae legends.....

I absolutely loved Lucky Dube - his music and his lifestyle. I was shocked to hear of his death. I have been a fan of his for years. He wrote fantastic lyrics and his music was very thought provoking. I am still having problems accepting that he is no longer here. R.I.P. Lucky - Jah Guide.
The only place I heard about this, apart from the reggae group I am in on Yahoo, was on Inside Africa, a programme on CNN.

I've heard of him, listened to a bit of his music, but it is sad that I did not know anything bout that till now. You gotta be either mainstream or "connected" to anyone mainstream to get aknowledged when something happens to ya.
Like DJ Screw, Big Hawk, & Fat Pat (Houston underground rappers) they didn't get any notice anywhere but Texas when Screw and Pat died and Hawk was killed and they were the pioneers of Texas rap...ridiculous
