Another two cents; for what it's worth.

Hopefully you believe that Salt will not work.

The DE might be great in carpet, etc, as might boric acid in corners, but certainly not something to apply directly to an animal.

I can't believe either that a bowl of soapy water with a light would work. Forgive this...Maybe a little night time, Flea swim party? :)

Fleas feed on the blood of a mammal (humans included) certainly that being the food source; what possible reason would they have to voluntarily leave that food source.

I don't think salt will do much for fleas as the crystals hard enough to pierce their exoskeleton. Diametric earth however should. It's tough and even a little piercing should take care of the flea.

A flea bomb and an anti-flea routine done regularly is the best way to get rid of fleas however.

I never heard of that before either.
And I would never use salt on any animal. Could you imagine how it would burn the skin if there were a slight cut or burn the animals eyes.
I don't know who told you this, but I hope they don't use it on there animals.
PS ,You can go to a vets office ,tell them you need a 1 month supply of flea killer. It cost 10.00 for a tube. They will ask you how much your dog ways. And then go home read the directions and apply it to your dog.
Good luck

well I have never heard of salt...but I do know that soapy water will kill fleas. Fleas can drown. One home remedy i heard of but never used was to put a bowl of soapy water on the floor with a light over it to attract the fleas to fall into the soapy water.

Also....you could just pay for the drops....advantage or frontline...nothing else compares.

My mom always used it. It seemed to work, but took awhile. I think it only works on the eggs, not the adult fleas.
