At 15 I would have gladly allowed a man twice my age in my pants. At the time I thought I was ready, luckily for me I didn't get the chance till I was 17. At 24 looking back on it I'm glad there are laws set up to protect minors from sexual relations with adults. I think depending on the maturity level of the 15 year old 18 and sometimes 17 would be too old. In Texas though there is the 3 year rule, meaning the state allows 18 year olds to have sex with 15 year olds.

When it's illegal, like everybody else says.

I don't think a lot of 15 year olds understand the seriousness of this though. I know you're at that age when you feel flattered that an older guy is paying attention to you, and you feel mature.

But if your bf gets caught, he will get into trouble.

To the person saying that 15 year olds look older, I looked like an 18 year old when I was TWELVE. There was an 11 year old girl in my class who had D cups..Does that make it right for adult men to have sex with them? NO!

Just wait until you have kids. When your 12 year old comes home with C cup breasts, are you going to say "Oh you look mature and developed, so it's okay for adults to have sex with you now."

For me the main deciders are:

1) Do you mutually consent to what you are doing together.
2) Is an abuse of power taking place.
3) Are you breaking the law.

It is NOT illegal for a 15 year old to have a relationship with an older person, unless they are explicitly engaging in sexual activities which make it a crime, however, if there is a significant age difference, then it there are some serious questions that need asking.

Relationships are about finding emotional compatibility and expressing it in a sexual relationship (else you are just friends) which does NOT necessarily mean having sex.

Some 15 year olds are very mature, and some 22 year olds are not. For that matter, some 30 year olds are very immature, and if maturity equated to legality, they might never be legal.

The law does the best it can by setting age barriers (and they differ widely from nation to nation). It is a good idea to respect the laws of the land. They don't preclude young people forming relationships with older ones, they just set down sensible boundaries about sex.

That said, broadly speaking I believe 13-18 is an appropriate dating range for a 15 year oldm and would expect a woman to date older boys, and a boy to date younger girls within this range.

Legally, anyone 18 or older.
However, since girls usually mature earlier than boys, there is no reason why a 15 year old girl and an 18 or 19 year old guy shouldn't be allowed to be together (including having sex). There are very many 15 year old girls that look and act like they're 18 or even 20. And there are equally many 19 year old guys that look and act 15. So in a lot of cases, a 15 year old girl and a 19 year old guy would make a really well-matched couple. Unfortunately, it'd be illegal for them to do anything sexual whatsoever and the guy would get sent to prison for 10 years and called a sexual predator and his life would basically be ruined forever. It's absurd.

Again I am from the old school and do not believe a girl at 15 should be dating beyond her age level ,16 may be Ok.

When you are under 25, you develop very very very fast mentally and physically. A person who is 13 is far mature than a person who is 15, and person who is 20 is far more mature than a person who is 17. When you are young and dating people just a few year apart there is noticeable mental development difference. So only a few years appart may not seem alot numerically but is huge in reality. I wouldn't trust any 18+ year old dating a 15 year old, its really shady.

In the United States, you are considered an adult when you turn 18. 17 years or younger is a child. These ages will vary depending on what country you're in.

It is illegal for an adult to engage in sexual activities with a minor.

A 15 year old can still "date" an 18 year old, but any kind of sexual contact (including kissing) would be considered a form of rape under US law.

In short, Adults cannot legally have sex with a minor in the United States.
