When you have something so dramatic on your eyes you want the opposite for your lips. A nude color would be the best option.
Barely Lit or Illicit from MAC are excellent choices

Natural colors go well with the smokey eye look. Like nude colors with a touch of gloss. I prefer pale colors myself whenever I do the smokey eye look, like a very pale peach or soft pink color.

I agree with most of the answers above: something light (nude, light pink/peach). If for some reason you do want to go a little darker, I'd do a sheer stain intead of gloss.
I just wanted to add that exact smokey eye tone and the lip color tone will depend on your skin, hair and eye colors -- so you'll choose either warm or cool tones depending on what you are.

You definitely want to down-play your lips since your eyes will have all the attention. Try using a nude, light pink, or a caramel color lipstick. Even a nice clear lip gloss will look good as well.

Nude lips are normally best coz u play up the eyes more and the focus is on them so everything else shud be simple, but there is no harm in wearing red to give an all over dramatic look.

Since the smokey eye is so dramatic, go with a nude lip. Definitely not red or pink.

A smokey look is very dramatic so it is best to go with a sheer or nude lip color

Lip color, definitely - not gloss.
A matte nude, bronze, or very sheer pink, depending on your coloring.
You don't want the lips to compete with the eyes, but complement them.
You will also need some blush with this look.

the common rule is if you do your eyes, dont do your lips...so if you have smokey eyes, wear a nude color or something that doesnt pop..... if you make your eyes and lips "pop" you will look like you are trying to hard... one is sexy, both is scankey...

what color smokey eye are you doing? blacks?
since your eyes will be your main focus point..go with slightly tinted gloss..nothing with too much color because your going to want your eyes to pop and be what people see
id try a clear pink
