You are not a sell out if you are respectful to others. In the US, you need to follow certain rules to be able to enjoy priviledges such as driving or working. Why do you not have a job? How do you get money to buy food? Do you steal everything you own? It is not selling out to follow rules of society.
If, in your eyes, it is a bad thing to follow rules, then think about why you do not want to follow those rules. Are you lazy or just unhappy with life in general? The way you meet life head on is about attitude. Decide in yourself what you must do to make the world a better place. But start with yourself man. Decide within yourself to be a good person, be an integral party of your homelife and your community. Be an activist where it will do the most good for yourself and others.

You're 35 yrs old and don't have a job? A job would make you a sell out? What does not having an id or driver's license have to do with not being a sell out? And who's Internet and computer are you using? How are you able to get on line to even ask this question? Having a job shows responsibility and character, it does not show a sell out. Bragging that you didn't finish high school, which is evident in your spelling, has nothing to do with not being a sell out. Bragging that you don't have an id or driver's license and that you spend all your time at anti war rallies and that you disrespect cops doesn't have anything to do with not being a sell out. All you have done is prove that there are scumbag leaches out there, and you're one of them! If you would get off your lazy a**, we wouldn't have to pay more taxes to take care of you and your "sell out" attitude!

Some people grow up and realize that the whole world is corrupt. Its not just one government (I suppose your talking) about the US government. When I was younger I hated the US but as I grew older I started to realize that other countries were just as corrupt if not more. Think if other countries had the power the US did, would they be as corrupt? Of course, its not the country, its the people and most humans are 'corrupt'. You cant stop it or even reduce it by wasting away your life and just being filth. Why not do something with your life instead of always fighting the 'power'? Have you ever actually done something that was significant and helped stop 'the man'? You really should grow up and learn what this world is about, cooperation. Without it, what would we be? Please rethink about your view on life and the government.
Thanks, Austin.

Behaving like you're 16 forever isn't going to do you much good in your old age.
I don't think you have to sell out to be an active and contributing member of your community. You can protest and still work for a living.
As for the hippies in the govt. Maybe they realized what you haven't. More can be accomplished working from within the ranks of the govt, than from a tent on the beach.

Well mainly because it gets hard to live when you have ideals like ours. For several reasons. Firstly your looked down upon cause of your political differences. If you dont have a license or id your obviously not going to college so you aint making a six figure sum every year. You dont have a job so you dont have any money. Your alienating yourself my friend. Just because you have a job or are a government offical doesnt mean your a sell-out. But to make it anymore with a little self respect your gonna have to suck up your ideals and do things to help yourself along. Your only a sell-out when you cant admit to yourself or anyone else wut your motives or ideals are. Be what you beleive in and your not a sell out. Peaces Man.

What kind of house do you live in? Are you married? Kids?
The way you answer my questions will answer your questions.
You also completely avoided responsibility for everything but protesting. You can have a house, a car, and money and still have an opinion.
IN ANSWER TO YOUR EMAIL TO ME:
who takes care of your 16 year oldson? I don't mean to be an *** and I am VERY sorry your Dad's sick.
How you can you not "believe" in marriage. It's not like it's Santa Claus.
IN ANSWER TO YOUR EDIT:
Do you take your child or father to doctors? There's nothing tough or impressive about being sick.
It sounds to me like you are angry with YOUR choices. It's not too late for you to turn it around. Nobody's gonna think you're a sellout. You have needs and you have to meet them. Get your GED~that would be an awesome example to your son. Social Services should help with in-home care for your father. The taxes you pay in from your 40-hour-week job will pay for they nursing. It's not perfect but it works sometimes. You might be less angry with a break.
I wish you lots and lots of luck!

if you're 35, then the whole hippie movement was over by the time you were of a mind to understand what it stood for. Sounds to me you just never outgrew adolescence, and the hippie thing is just an excuse! You're not so much a hippie, but a wannabe!

I believe people “sell-out” because they need to earn a living. The baby boomer generation that rebelled against government control became monsters once they inherited positions of power. Since many were strung out while his/her parents paid to keep them in college, reality when passing legislation is not important- just returning favors to those who help make them rich and powerful.
Morals must be suppressed if one does not want to be black balled from his/her profession. Even though the Bush-Clinton years claim to have lowered the crime rate, it seems like the standard of what we call a crime has lowered. Instead of mafia using force to take our money, they have been given free reign of big business and power to bully the world now. As long as they promise huge donations to political candidates in exchange for legislation that essentially monopolizes their business, little can be done by the average person- if one rises against immoral behaviors one will be economically destroyed.

This selling out as you call it is called growing up.
What the hell would you know or understand about the hippies of the 60's?? Nothing. They were kids who opposed the vietnam war mainly..but they were kids..NOT adults who were too lazy to work.
Grow up!! Are you still a v irgin?? No woman would have anything to do with you..I guarantee that much. I think you
forgot to mention that.
You need to get a big huge friggin L tatooed right across your forehead. I've never in my entire life actually heard of such a loser!!!!!!

well someone is supporting you. i mean how do you get money for food. your perspective is sell out. but other people make decisions for their lives. their perspective changes as they mature. just because i have a good job doesn't mean i'm a sellout (i work for gov't) because i operate with high moral standards, telling the truth and being loving and genuine at work every day. i'm implementing changes within the system and i think that might work also, as well as protesting. i feel like i contribute to giving the taxpayers a good deal for their money because i work hard and try to do a very good job.
