Your question makes an unsubstantiated assumption that Liberals want communism in the US. As far as I can tell, they don't. How about you give us some hard evidence for the conclusions you have jumped to, together with independent links substantiating same.
P.S. - According to Wikipedia, "communism is an ideology that seeks to establish a classless, stateless social organization based on common ownership of the means of production." According to the same source "Liberalism refers to a broad array of related ideas and theories of government that consider individual liberty to be the most important political goal."

Get rich quick schemes in the capitalist business world, (buyouts, IPOs, conglomerates, acquisitions, mergers, and the stock market), do not actually work. Remaining solvent does not actually exist within false economics capitalism.
Profit existing in the capitalist business world, or millionaires existing within capitalism, is pathological deception committed by the 21 organizations spying on the population with plain clothes agents, (with covert fake names and fake backgrounds).
Actual economics is the persons paying the monthly business loan payments of companies voting at work in order to control the property they are paying for.
Capitalism is the psychology of imaginary parents, false economics, and the criminal deception of employees that are paying the bills (including the stocks and bonds, or shares) of companies.
Anti-democracy republicanism is the psychology of imaginary parents, and false government.

Liberals don't pay attention to history or they wouldn't be liberals. Those who ignore history are bound to repeat it, and if you ask them why they support socialism/universal healthcare/poverty support/extreme environmentalism/etc, etc they will tell you that the right people have not been doing it. Because God knows "they" have all the answers and were all just a bunch of dumb........my personal favorite "closed minded" , mean, ugly people..........wah.
Meanwhile nine out of ten history teachers vote conservatively. Because these people understand what works and what does not. The have a harder grasp on economics, politics, and what makes a nation great as a whole, as they study the Greeks, Romans, British, and now the United States............they know that the harder leftists grab a hold of a nation, the faster downhill that nation goes.
see, just as Zed said "but the people running the system." I rest my case, go ahead, ignore history, it will bite you

The (economically speaking) Liberal movement isn't and never has been about doing good. It's about gaining power. "For the common good" is a dangerous maxim, because people believe that the those pushing that crap are sincere. They're not. People who want so socialize the U.S. economy know it will cripple us. How do they know? Its called economics. That said, why do people like John Edwards want to shove us in that direction? Greed, the very thing they claim to be crusading against!

Horowitz wrote a book on how the teachers are changing the way kids think today. Teachers are inflicting their views on the youth, (who have no choice). I believe it is enemy infiltration into our society.
