& radio newsstations and national news networks?

By the word "integrity" I really refer to News Reporting integrity which I logically contend is compromised across the journalistic spectrum when sports reporting is compromised by the mutual interests by all parties in the revenues generated from pushing (selling& promoting) sports that are now mega- money businesses. One example David Beckham, the soccer player.

The *principle of independence between reporters and the news organization they work for is hoplessly compromised by the monetary interests of all the parties in making money from the televised or broadcasted sports that succeeds. Need I say more?

"The broadcasts are indeed controlled by the teams and leagues, but that doesn't affect journalism." I challenge you to word your statement as a Q & see how many support your view.

That is pretty much true of any entertainment media, not just sports.

Not all journalists are in the employ of the industry they cover though.

Whoa. Not sure what you mean by that.

The broadcasts are indeed controlled by the teams and leagues, but that doesn't affect journalism. So, you aren't going to hear bad words about them in general on the air.

But that's different than those who cover the team. I can't say that's ever come up in covering a team on an independent basis. If I'm covering a golf tournament for a TV station in town, I could care less that Tiger Woods has a deal with Gatorade or Buick.

Is that what you mean?
