I am writing an essay on the representation of queer sexualities in the media, and how they feature in aiding the process of hetero-normativity and capitalist consumerism.

I must make reference to the representation of 'queerness' on Australian television.

So far I have thought of Queer Eye for the Straight guy (which is also screened in Australia) and Big Brother characters.

Can anyone think of any others, and if so, do you know where I could access them (websites, common video store etc.)

Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

There's shows such as Queer as Folk, but there's actually a Pride channel now in Canada. Maybe you should also refer to how homosexuals are still largely portrayed in comedies, as stereo typical roles still make everyone laugh. Just a couple suggestions. D'n'D

Oh Will and Grace is a big one. Yes, they are trying to make something totally immoral seem somehow right. And they are succeeding..which will lead to homosexuals demise.
