No... Aztecs were turned slaves, their culture almost disappeared and even nowdays they are seen as poor and ugly, except by nationalist artists...

Most definitely not. They were perceived to be heathen, and only worthy of subjugation and exploitation.

Sadly, the result of their conquest is still reflected to this day - after 500 yrs. - in the present day Mexican society and culture.

As I recall, the Spaniards numbered something like 3-500 people, the Aztecs around 25,000.

Today, the national economy of Mexico is controlled by and benefit mostly only the tiny class of the Conquistadors descendants. Not even 5% of the overall population.

So, to say that the aztec culture was respected by their conquerers, would be totally fallacious.

Mostly no.

The Aztec culture was completely dissassembled by the Spanish after the conquest of Tenochtitlan/Mexico City. The many strucutres were razed, and Spanish authority was established. The Aztecs were largely reduced to a debt peonage system akin to slavery.

Is the Aztecs culture still alive? No, the Spaniards liked their own culture best and destroyed all cultures they could in order for them to have resources and power.

Worse than the conquistadors, though, were the priests and missionaries. They made fervent (and VERY successful) attempts to remove any hint or proof or support for their heritage and religions. In fact, we have just a few surviving books of original writings that have taken dozens of years to just start to decode, since nothing else survives. What a crime!!
