There are no known odd perfect numbers, but no one has managed to prove that they do not exist.

It has, however, been proven that there are no odd perfect numbers smaller than 10^300. It has also been proven that all even perfect numbers will be associated with Mersenne primes.

Edit:
Mike1942f is referring to perfect numbers based on Mersenne primes (even perfect numbers):
(2^(n−1))(2n − 1)
n = The values he mentioned.
n is odd, but the perfect numbers are clearly even

If you find an odd perfect number, you will be the first. Just don't waste your time looking for one less than 10^300.

The other 5 known are for n = 20996011, 24036583, 25964951, 30402457, 32582657. As of 2006 it is not known whether there are others between them.
