We would like something with one syllable. Actually thinking of River Sage.

But I was curious to get your ideas?

It will be for a little boy.

It's a moderately cute name for a boy, but maybe too cutesy for a grown man. Also, the meaning of sage gives the impression that River Sage refers to a wise old man who lives in the river. Maybe too mythological sounding. Maybe not what you're going for.

I first thought River Chance, but that immediately made me think River Dance, so that is out. So how about....

River James
River Blake
River Price

I also think that River could sound very nice as a middle name.

Patrick River
Quentin River
Payton River

And I think River Sage sounds great as well. If you are pregnant, start calling your belly that right now. By the time the baby is born, you'll either love the name you chose, or will have changed it long before then to something that you do love completely. Anyway, best of luck!

I like the name River for a boy! It's not one syllable but what about River Ian? River Jaden? River Sage sounds good but it sounds sort of like an adventure movie... like "we must go find the River Sage and have him answer our questions" (you know, because "Sage" means a wise person?). Good luck!

River? Are you serious? A river is a large moving body of water, not a name.

River James sounds really manly and smart.

Imagine if your older brother.. or your dad or your grandfather had a name like River James! I'd be stoked.
