Being a good husband comes first and is more important- only because if he is being a good father will flow from that.

I think it is important that a male be a good man over all before he even thinks of becoming a husband or father.
However, a person may make an excellent spouse but a terrible parent. Parenting is a special thing that should only be done by the people who have a calling for it. Just because one can breed and reproduce does not mean one should.

My fiance wouldn't be a good father, but I'd be a worse mother! Then again, we don't want children. If you want children, there should be a balance of both, but I do think having the ability to be a good father would be slightly more important than being a good husband for the sake of the children.

I personally have to say that they are close... but I would have to say being a good father takes precedence over being a good husband, only a tiny bit! Fathers teach their children how to be good people, to me it is more important for my husband to teach my son good things, and be sensitive, sweet, understanding and patient for my son. I can work out the kinks in his husband skills. (I do not think he is lacking though.)

Yes i do but if i had to choose i would say Better Father..... b/c a child can have only 1 biological dad but a wife could find another love or husband :D

a man should be a good husband and a better father. after all, the children didn't bring themselves into this world. children grow up looking up to their parents. it is up to the parents to set a good sample for them. thats what's wrong with this world today, the children followed their parents footsteps and now there is no control over them. so yes, it is better to be a better parent

I think that he should be both. I guess if I had to pick one it would be a good father. Even though you want a good husband the kids need a good father more. Luckily mine is both.

the fact is that some men were born to be good husbands and aren't so good at being dads....some are born to be great Dads and arent such great husbands...I think the same applies to the ladies.....sometimes you just have it in you your born with it...the good news...either can be learned if you try and really want to
