i have four 6 volt batterys need to make two 12 batterys for a 12 system

Tronary idea will get you in trouble???Battery #1 neg to Pos on #2 battery gives you 12 volts>Use the neg on #2 battery and the Pos on #3 battery for your connections>neg on the #3 battery to the Pos on #4 battery neg is left open for your connections to make 12 volts>Pos #1 is left open>>To complete your connections>

To get 12 volt from two 6 volt requires connecting the terminals in series. The neg. post on battery one will connect to the pos. post on battery two. The pos. post on battery one will connect to the neg. post on battery two. This will give you 12 volts across the pos. neg. terminals on each battery. If you want all four bats. for 12 volt battery pack connect the neg terminal on one set to the neg. terminal on the other set same with pos. side, pos to pos.. That will be 4 bats. putting out 12 volts.
