How object is science?

The way science balances human ego and error with the need for objectivity is by requiring testable hypotheses and publication of results and the methods of testing them.
A hypothesis about God can not be tested. A hypothesis about UFOs may only be tested if one can catch one, which nobody has yet. A hypothesis about oil under certain kinds of rock can be tested by drilling though the rock and examining what is underneath.

Science is quite objective. But scientists are not.

Science advances slowly. One tombstone at a time.
