Every movie/show I want to watch, he thinks is stupid & gets mad. It is always what he wants to watch. The only time I get to watch what I want is when he goes to bed or is at work. The same goes for the radio. Whether we are in his car or mine, he controls the radio. I am so tired of it. All he wants to do is listen to 80's music. I like the 80's too but enough is enough. I like listening to the newer stuff too. If I manage to turn it to my station, he will slap my hand away or just get mad & turn off the radio. I love my husband, but this is so childish and its getting to the point that I just want to smack him. Please advise how I should handle this situation.

Welcome to the club it's just not your husband but all husbands around the world. They all think when they walk in the door the remote belongs to them and the funny part about it is we hand the remote to them at least i do. Why fight it, i wait like you until my husband goes to bed but then I'm so tired i usually fall right to sleep in his recliner. About the radio at least your husband listens to the 80's try listening to country all the time.
Michelle must be a teenager or in her very early 20's to say, you should get your own TV and I-pod that's funny wait until she gets married then see what she says.

Whoop his azz with the remote control one good time and I bet he'll never be a tv or radio hog again. That's what I do and I get whatever I want whenever I want....that's how I became Queen of this domain....lol
Seriously you two are married you are not his child tell him what the heck you wanna watch or listen to and slap his hand away! Screw that girl you need to stand up for yourself....if you don't I will gladly pay him a neighborly visit....hee hee He would get a Gucci or Prada pump up his azz in a hot minute if he was my man!

Sorry, I'll be repetitious. Your husband probably feels he deserves to watch whatever he wants after a hard day at work. Having your own T.V. and i-pod (so you may take it wherever you go) solves the problem. Don't forget to use the earphones, too, for when you're both listening to music -in the same room- at the same time. Patience is a virtue (so are tolerance and respect). Tell your husband to never slap your hand again!

Well as far as a tv you need to get your own tv for your self maybe in the bed room. And as far as a radio get a radio that has head phones. And just let him do his thing and you do yours.See if that works for you and good luck.

You better put him in his place and FAST because if you let him act like a child on little things, he'll eventually act like a child when it comes to important things. He's a grown man and you need to let him know he needs to start acting like one. You're both adults here and you can come to a reasonable agreement about the tv and the radio....but honestly, if this is the biggest problem in your marriage, you two will be fine after this gets straightened out.

Get another TV and fix up your room the way you like it put a plasma on the wall and enjoy. As for the car get you both a ipod then each can listen to their own music without disturbing the other one

My, how things have changed in 10 years… Everybody's got an iPad or a laptop and no one gives a damn about the TV remote.

Does the radio change volumes on all stations or just the gospel station? If it is just the one station I think it means the techs running it are not doing their job right and just playing the songs at whatever volume the CD tape or records happens to be recorded at.
