The republicans have a weak field this cycle with one outstanding exception in Ron Paul.
Paul simply makes sense to me and to a lot of other people - democrats, independents, and republicans. Check out his website. It can tell you more about him and his convictions than I can.
I am a true blue democrat. However, if the republicans had the moral courage and sheer guts to nominate Paul and it came down to voting for either Paul or Hillary for president, I think I would have to vote for Paul.
However, that will never happen. The republicans do not have the stomach for it and Paul is unwilling to play the usual game of RNC butt-kissing that republicans seem to love and respect so much in their candidates these-days.

Well... I've sent his campaign about $200 dollars over the past couple of months. I've been reading his writings for a few years now, and while I disagree with him a lot, he is the only candidate that I feel like I can trust. I've vote Libertarian in the past two pes. elections, but I just switched to repub to vote for him in the NC primaries.
I'm not a big fan of his immigration stuff, but I'm an open-borders kinda guy. I do agree with his general stance on it though, namely that in a free society immigrants are always a good thing and that the only problem with them in America is that they take advantage of tax-payer funded programs.
Anyways, check out lewrockwell.com for a bunch of his writings (as well as other great writers).

He's a nut case and can't win. His supporters are adamantly sure that he will become president but since he has so little support, other than in the Internet, he's a hopeless case.
I think his ideas are wrong and destructive.

If he got elected he would never get anything through Congress and would veto most everything that came before him. Would be an exercise in futility.

Considering the majority makeup of his rank and file base, I think of him as little as possible.
