To answer your question the YAnkees are heading in a new and postive direction.

ONE: Its Time For Change!

I believe that the Yankees are a little to old and we need to go young. Its serves the Yankees damn right he is opting out of he contract and going some where else. And I also notice that Torre sleeps in the clubhouse which indicates hes a great guy but not activily involved on the field.

TWO: Its Time TO Get Younger!

Torre is not great with handiling a young pitching staff whcih we are going to start. Joe Girardi has proved he has worked with great pitching staffs not only as a catcher but as managing the Florida Marlins.

Thats all I got to say and great luck!

They went with Joe Girardi because he has 1 yr. of managing experience. He also is working with a some what younger team than what Torre had to work with. Which is just what Girardi had to work with, when he managed the '06 Marlins club. They are in a period of rebuilding the core of team. They are starting with some new rookies such as Ian Kennedy, Chaimberlain, etc. They are looking to get some new faces, in new places. I think they should sign Pettitte, Rivera, and Posada though.

It wasn't intentionally, but a mere Coincidence, the early favorite for the job was Mattingly, but since he didn't have any kind of managerial experience the Yankees went with some one who did, but not only the one who did, but won a Manager of the year award in his first managerial assignment, unfortunately for him, he got fired at the end of the season. Welcome Joe Girardi, bring a World Series Title Home...

They shouldn't have because it will probably remind them of the years that they lost to the red sox and the indians.

Death of a dynasty-Yankees
Birth of a dynasty-Red Sox!
i love reincarnation! haha

I think it's just another coincidence though.
