The Sky filled with darkness it appeared that tonight was going to be a very scary Halloween. My friends and I were scared that the old woman that lived in the house on the corner had put a spell on us,like she had said she did. As we hid in the shadows outside her home all of us saw what looked like a Ghost pass by her window on the second floor. All of the sudden from behind a tree a Goblin jumped out,it made us scream. It was one of our friends that hadn't showed himself til then... We decided to make it more scary, we would sneak into the cellar to see if we could find the wicked woman in her house and see what she was up to. As we approached the basement door there was a violet glow... We couldn't believe what we saw...There she was dressed like a witch In one hand she held a toad....on the end of her nose was the most gastly wart that you could imagine....She dropped the toad into the scalding water of her concoction that she was brewing...she stired it and picked up her ladle and pored some of her brew into a wineglass that she had waiting, at hand. Sipped from her glass....when all of the sudden she began to shake, convulse almost...Then she broke into this amazing dance....A Disco ball dropped from the ceiling and she was just dancing like a fool....The party had begun..... Happy Halloween... :)

In the darkness, a scary ghoul cast a spell on a local sorceress that even frightened the ghosts and goblins in the area. They screamed loudly as they ran to the cellar where the wicked violet witch lived and were shocked to see she had been turned into a toad with a wart between her eyes. The weirdest thing though was that somehow she was still able to hold on to the wineglass that had been in her hand just before the spell was cast.

I hope you did not mean that we had to use them "alphabetically." I used them in the order you listed them, assuming that is what you meant by chronological order.

Out of the darkness, a scary figure comes to light. it was a witch to cast a spell on you. she turns you into a ghost, then no a goblin. You scream at your refection in the mirror, so you run to cellar to hide from the world. The wicked old witch laughed at your dismay. In an angry fit you scratch at her, she bleeds violet purple. the witch flys off on her broom, telling you the only way to be cured is to find a toad with a red wart and kiss it... you are terrified . how are you to go out looking like this.. are you doomed to be this way the rest of your life.. oh my god you scream.. you are awaked by your own scream, you find the wineglass and empty wine bottle on the near by table. you must have had one to many at your own halloween party.. it was only a drunken dream..

happy halloween....

Out of the darkness of divorce, which can be very scary, can sometimes come light. It's like being released from an evil spell in a way - that day that comes when there's no longer anger, sadness, etc.

It didn't take a Ghost or Goblin to let me know I needed to free myself from self-imposed solitude and loneliness. It didn't even take a scream from the cellar to free me from my own version of All Hallows Eve. Nor was there a wicked stepmother involved, contrary to popular belief! (:

Violet was a factor. While purple has been my favorite color for quite a while, who knew it could be anything from comforting to energizing to the light at the end of the tunnel? The witch (or ex, as you may prefer to call yours) couldn't tamper with my love of purple either. And I didn't have to kiss a toad to find my prince! (: Nor did it take a wineglass or two to drown my sorrows.

It just took kids - of all shapes and sorts, mine and others', just being kids, reminding me there's always that light at the end of the tunnel. At this time of year, right before Halloween, I am most reminded of the joy of children. They are the light combating darkness, cheerful and scary costumes alike. The spell they cast is magical.

Be they Ghost, Goblin, dragon, ninja, or princess, they are precious and unique. Their scream is as like to be for joy or surprise than to indicate something dark or sordid. I can even enjoy the fables about kids being locked in cellars - good ghost stories with kids are unsurpassable!

Violet punch on kids' tongues is silly, too. And my personal favorite of being irritated with Mom for an orange and black witch's costume (I wanted to be Glenda the GOOD witch, lol) is another thing to be thankful for. As is the fact that although I have only boys to raise, none of them have put toads in my bed, pocket, shoes, etc., on Halloween or at any other time!

Last but not least, kids can make the most interesting things out of a wineglass. It's not something to hold liquor when they get hold of it, believe me! It might be a noisemaker or a science experiment. Whatever their imagination can construe that day, which is the most wonderful part about kids - their imagination.

Speaking of imagination, all this ruminating reminds me I've just imagined what Trick or Treating will be like this year. I still get to go out tomorrow and experience it firsthand! Ahhh, the joys of celebrating Halloween with kids and as a grown-up kid myself. I can't wait!

(:

Darkness came calling early. It was a scary moonless night where normal objects took on strange shapes in the dark. An old oak tree looking like an old woman casting a spell. A white shirt hung on the line looking like a floating ghost. Some unidentified object looking like a goblin which made me scream out in fear as I ran inside the house.
"Maggie dear, could you go down the cellar and get a me some vintage wine?" asked my dad as he sat in his reclining chair by the fire place, reading a paper.
"Don't be wicked, Violet" called out my mom as Violet, my younger sister gave me a shove in the small of the back to get me going. The little witch. She knew I was scared of the dark and creepy cellar. I knew a fat toad lived down there with multiple warts on its back.
"Boo!!" screamed Violet behind me as I entered the cellar. I whirled round with such force and deadly fright that I knocked the wineglass she held in her hand against her head which then hit the wall and she crumpled to the ground lifelessly, like a rag doll. Trickles of blood ran down her face and she didn't seem to be breathing. Just then I heard the fat toad croak...it sounded ominious.

in the darkness of an alley, i could hear the scary creaks and groans of an alley cat. and suddenly i felt a spell come over me as i turn as pale as the ghost that i suddenly saw in front of me. as i turned there was the sudden fear of being trapped. not 10 feet behind me in the dark was a ugly looking goblin. i let out a scream that shook the windows on the ground. they grabbed me. i went out cold. as i came too i saw a cabin with a cellar that looked as
wicked and sinister as those only in horrer movies. they started to drag me through a bright violet door. as fought to stay out an ugly witch walks out with a toad that had nearly as many warts as she. i finally went under a spell of which i never awoke. from then on all i could do is sit with her and drink from a beautiful wineglass filled a grey liquid of which i can not describe the taste. for weeks thats all i did. until my body could no longer take it. then without warning as the poison flow through out my veins i took one last breath and then nothing.

good enough for ya?
