Hi there,
I'm struggling with trying to find the zeros of the following;
x^4+25x^2+144
x^4-8x^3+17x^2-8x+16

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Zeros do not have to be real numbers

The first eqution has no real zeroes, all are imaginary. Are you sure you have the equation right?

Hello

x^4+25x^2+144
I went ahead and graphed this and found the solutions to be all imaginary since it doesn't cross the x axis.

So I used my equation solver in my TI-84+ and I got
x = 4i, -4i, 3i, -3i

I did the same with the next equation: x^4-8x^3+17x^2-8x+16.
I got x = 4+.00000152i, 4-.00000152i, 1i, -1i

Hope this helps
