Well Karlovic's fastest serve ever only registered a 153mph. Roddicks registered a 155mph. If you say that because the fastest serve Karlovic ever hit was out and it might be faster, well then he hit it out. The fact is that Karlovic is a great server and perhaps equal or a little bit better than Roddick, but he can't play otherwise.

Roddick has a great serve and gets an outstanding % of 1st serves in. Of all the top 20 players he relies on and wins with his serve the most. The problem has become that players have learned that just blocking back the Roddick serve gets you into the point and from there things are more equal.
Karlovic's edge is trajectory; it's not as easy to block back a ball that's head high. Federer commented on John Isner's serve(6' 9")exactly that. So Karlovic's serve will continue to be a monster that he totally depends on and Roddick will be working on other parts of his game.

Andy's lost a little something on his serve, so at the moment, Karlovic might have a slightly bigger serve. His height makes it easy for him to hit big serves. The same could be said for Isner. Both Isner and Karlovic hit more aces than Roddick.
Let's remember that it takes more than a big serve to consistently win matches. Karlovic is getting better and has a few titles under his belt. I think he'll get even better as the next couple of years go along. He'll be a threat to any of the top players. Remember, Karlovic was discovered several years ago at Wimbledon when he beat Lleyton Hewitt in the 1st round, after Hewitt had won the previous year.
Karlovic will have the more consistent, stronger serve.

Actually, Roddick has a slightly more powerful serve than Karlovic does. Roddick has been up to 155 mph before which is still the world record. Both of them consistently serve in the 135-145 range on the first serve, but Roddick has the better second serve.
Karlovic can however out ace Roddick, but that has more to do with placement than speed. Remember, Ivo Karlovic stands at 6'10" tall (the tallest player in the ATP). At that height, the balls he serves come at the opponent from an extreme angle that is very difficult to get to.
These two guys are definetely the two best servers in the ATP and an argument could be made for either one over who is "better". But Roddick has more overall 'game' to back up his serve than Karlovic does, and both of their records prove that.

Well, I'm not sure I understand this question because Roddick holds the fastest serve recorded in professional tennis, clocked at 155 mph. Karlovic's fastest serve is @ 153 mph. I guess you're talking about the majority of the type, his avg serve is stronger than Roddick's. . . . karlovic has the height advantage, and roddick doesn't

Yes, he already has. His serves are much faster than Karlovic's and I like his service motion better than Karlovic's.
