I like to think positive, so I think they would stay.

What's up Yankee Fans how is everyone deeling with this depression? Posada is being offered 3 years/ 40 million. Is he worth that? Hell no. But Posada is the only reason why Mariano would stay. If Posada leaves, there is a good chance Month might follow suit. Posada's domino is the most important tile right now. It started with Joe, then with A-Rod apparently, and if Posada goes.. I don't even want to think of the backlash after that.
But I think Jorge will stay. No one else on the market is pushing for a 37 or 38 year old catcher with slow legs. He did have a great season this year but other than the Mets I don't see other teams pursuing Posada. Even we can outbid the Mets..... If Posada returns then Month will likely return. Cashman is so desperate right now and fresh off Alex wussing out of the New York spotlight he has money to spend. About 140-150 mil was going to be offered making Gay-Rod a gazillionare but I guess he wanted more money. You can't get enough money, even if you are part of the Yankee traditional and legend. But that's neither here nor there. We'll give Posada and Month whatever they want.
There is a good chance Petite might return. We really need Petite to come back because he still has his stuff apparently after Game 2 of the ALDS, making those Indian hitters look silly. There is a good chance Andy might return because Joe Girardi used to catch for Andy back in the days when being a Yankee fan was a happy time. Being a Yankee fan just hurts nowadays.

Andy P. may decide based on his pal, Roger Clemens....they seem to have evolved into a package deal. Rivera is as good as gone, but it may be time to get the young staff in place in relief roles....he did get torched pretty badly in a good number of save situations this season (some big help to Torre). Posada - of the trio - may re-sign with the team.
You must remember that the club did not grab a world championship with them in the lineup over the past several years. The Yankees have outstanding young talent in AAA that may be ready to blossom and the dynamic of throwing money thoughtlessly at players is proving to be a futile model.......unless just making the playoffs is the biggest goal.

Why do Red Sox fans say that the Yankees "buy" players, whereas the Red Sox "acquire" them? Apparently, you missed the fact that the Red Sox just gave Lackey $85 million, and for Dice K, it was over $50 million just for his rights, and by the time he was signed, the total was something like $101 million. It seems like you have done an awful lot of studying up on the Yankees. You are obviously scared of them. Don't even try to make it look as if the Red Sox system is light years ahead of the Yankees. First of all, Lars Anderson hit in the .230s in Double-A this year, and Casey Kelly split the year between pitching and short. He pitched only two months. So, he's going to be a star because of that? Also, I remember the Yankees lighting up Bowden this season. Montero, played the season at age 19 and tore it up. The Yankees have a ton of catching in the minors, and you will start seeing it in 2011. If you read Baseball America, you would see that most of the Yankees prospects are in Double-A or lower, just like the Red Sox guys you mentioned. If you mention the Red Sox that came up through the farm, you have to mention the Yankees who did Jeter, Rivera, Pettitte, Posada, Cano, Joba, Hughes, Coke (since traded for Granderson), Gardner, Robertson (who led the league in SO per nine innings pitched). The Red Sox are just as old as the Yankees. Varitek is washed up, his successor Martinez is a DH/Firstbaseman, not a catcher, sorry. Drew is an old 34, Lowell, if he comes back will be 36. Even Scutaro is no kid, and there's no way he repeats last season's stats. You Red Sox fans crack me up. It's as if you are the poor, small-market, underdog Red Sox, with a small payroll, against those big bad Yankees. The Red Sox have one of the top payrolls in the game too, and money is one of the reason you were able to get Schilling and Beckett. Remember, Boston only was able to get Beckett if they took Lowell's big contract as well. Why don't you worry about your own team, and let us Yankee fans watch our team reload. Enjoy Montero using the Red Sox for batting practice for years to come.

Posada and Rivera will probably wind up re-signing. Also, Pettitte will probably take his $16 million option. So, yes, all 3 will be back.

Same here, I feel that they were one of the key players who led the Yankees to 4 World Series Championship Titles, I would love to see them play for the Yankees until they retire. Each is unique in their own ways and they each contribute to the team in a helpful way too...I hope they stay with the Yankees for as long as they can...Go Yankees

This is the most likely scenario to happen. Posada and Rivera will return, Andy will retire.

I think all 3 will resign because they are all teamates with the new manager Joe Girardi. They did work together at some pt. during that stint of 4 World Series Championships!

all 3 will be back, just not Arod.. Posada, Rivera, and Pettitte are lifetime Yankees and will all have their #'s retired one day, but not before Paul O'neill.

If they leave New York, the Yankees are doomed. Without those three, the only class act in pinstripes will be Derek Jeter.
No offense, I hope they do leave. I hate the Yankees.

They will probably leave. There team has gotten older so it's going to be hard for them to find some good base players. Joba can't pitch every game and Canoe can't bat every time! Rivera might stay for another year, but they might all be traded. It's going to be a weird season next year.
