You don't go to school much do you? I thought not, otherwise you'd know, we do have a vast supply ourselves. There is another thing that's hard, it's called coal and comes in different sizes and form. And, last but not least, our Vast Western plains is covered in oil shale, west of the Rockies. We have probably more oil than we could handle but, it goes along with OPEC and has to be dealt with as such.

Point out to people who stopped funding of alternative energy development, and suggest means of punishing them.
In the arctic slope and strategic reserves were all opened up, it wouldn't be more than a drip in the bucket.

Excellent. Everyone would soon become scared and we would be forced to invest very heavily in renewable energy.
After all, that's what happened to Brazil in the 1970s.
