Relax is some thing we have to get, when we change our action to some thing else. So if we are in a stage of "Plug in", relaxation comes when it is changed to "Unplug". and Vice versa.
Some times change in action means the action stalled for some time also gives relaxation. So It may be true in some cases to keep plug in until relaxed , or not to plug in at once, until relaxed.
This is a personalty oriented matter and the answer pertains to the person in action, and the environment and resources.

I am not certain what you mean by "unplug".; but it's almost impossible for me to disassociate myself from "things" that are bothering me . I can relax however, by relaxing my body through meditation and light exercise combined with listening to beautiful music and going for walks through the country. If I can relax my body, I mind follows ..

Unplug. It's nice to unwind yourself from energy sometimes.
