If a Nation uses Nuclear Weapons on another Country All other countries will destroy the aggressor. It was after WW2 and I don't know if it has changed, but almost all nations agreed and signed. Is that treaty still in effect and doesn't that prevent it pretty good. Even if The U.S. used it we would face extreme consiquenses from all nations including our allies.

Sadly, I think that between the US and Russia and the stupidity of the current generation of both of their leaders, the danger of runaway nuclear war has increased considerably in the last decade.

Between these two countries, both threatened by the newfound powers of other countries, the chance that a ten minute conflagration taking out the very foundation of civilization is at an all time high.

Even just a small percentage of the arsenals of the US and Russia would create a devastated world from which recovery would be counted in hundreds if not thousand of years.

Civilization is fragile.
