So it rewards more for work and investment (less personal and corporate income taxes),but punishes idle assets like idle investments and luxurious consumption? Because income taxes, especially for lower income people, happen to be bad for the economy,so people won't have as much as they would to spend on everyday things.

Lower taxes mean more spending. Isn't that what we as consumers want? I couldn't agree more with you.
For some reason, some people think that the higher the taxes, the more government is efficient. But this is extremely limited as we all know that parts of government have become extremely corrupt.
When government controls more and more of our lives and money, everyone is going to lose regardless. But if you lower taxes, this encourages an economic spurt of spending and can potentially decreases the unemployment rate.
More taxes is not the answer in solving our problems, particularly when taxing the rich. Electing better representatives is. Give the choices and the money back to the people.
Thousands of our dollars which we never even see go to waste in frivilous spending that could be used for better improvements or alone be given back to us.
We waste so much in healthcare and welfare, especially when it comes to supporting illegal immigrants, people who could care LESS of money since government pays for them.
Just keep in mind that cutting ALL taxes to an extremely low point will also weaken a country if there is little to defend, educate, and support the country.
I'm not saying we should be babysat by the government, rather there needs to be a healthy balance of federal spending.

Oh Lord YES!!!
After reading Gov. Jesse Ventura's book, I came to understand just how much a national flat tax would benefit this country. Abolish the current tax code, and simply go to a national "sales" tax of around 10-12%, and you would rake in billions in tax revenue that is now lost. Think about it...there would no longer be any tax shelters for the super rich, and everytime anyone buys something, this % would go to the Fed Govt. The tax system would finally be FAIR!

Complaining about taxes if you live in the United States is just pathetic. The taxes are REALLY LOW compared to other industrialized nations of the world, especially Europe where taxes consume most of you paycheck. I do think that taxes should be flat, but please dont compalin because you have it good.

thats a very vague statement, what is "luxurious consumption", it could be defined as alot of things. Saving isn't good for the economy, think long term is good though.

I support a flat tax. Pay a small percentage based on what you earn.
No sales tax, no food tax.
