Okay, here's the story: i got to this con every year and this year for some god-awful reason I chose to wait til a month before to ask for the time off. Well, the con is this weekend and both my requests were rejected a month ago by management. I was going to be immature and just "call in sick" this weekend until I discovered it's a blackout weekend( i.e. you call out, you get fired). So I'm trying to come up with a GOOD excuse to get out of work.

Oh and I'm not saying I'm sick or that anyone died....that's just asking for trouble.

And if this helps, I work at JCPenney, which means retail and very not lenient people. So it has to be a bad a$$ excuse.

say its an emergncy and that you have to go home if you don't live away from home if you know of some family member that is already gone than say they died and you have to have the time off. One of my friends tried that and it worked. Good luck!!
