im a jr in high school my topic is what invention in 1900-1989 has had greatest economic,social,and/or political impact on the USA.my thesis is The nuclear weapon makes the United States more influential in World Politics, inevitably leading to political advantages. but i can't seem to find any information on it i even check it out at the library

You might try looking under "cold war" or nuclear proliferation." But if you haven't gone too far, you might think about this some more. The internal combustion engine completely transformed life in the US, making cars, trucks, planes and modern boats possible, allowing the growth of the suburbs and the rapid spread of the population to the west and south, and ultimately allowing us to fly to the moon and beyond.

I'm afraid I'd have gone with something more along the lines of either the airplane of the computer. As it is, there used to be a great slogan in the military. "Peace through superior fire power." It's what brought down communist Russia and its Soviet block countries. You might try Googling "The Domino Theory." And then you might try contrasting what you find there against militarism and politics. Good luck!
