I need help really bad :(

Does anyone know of any contradictions in U.S. history during 1890 until the beginning of WWII? Ones related to the growth of government, changing social values of Americans, an expanded American foreign policy, and the economy leading up to the great depression. I need the contradictions.

Thank you so much!
