The Chicago Cubs go into the 2008 season with the longest drought between World Series championships. Their last worlds championship came 100 years ago in 1908.
They haven't been to a World Series since the infamous "Murphy The Goat" curse was laid upon the team during the team's last appearance in a World Series.
I say curse be darned! GO CUBS GO !!!
Will 2008 finally be the north siders year?

I think A-Rod stands a good chance of getting picked up by the Cubbies. I think A-Rod would be the final piece of the puzzle that's been keeping the north siders from a World Series championship in 100 years.

I do see the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series in 2008 and their first World Series in 100 years. I see the Cubs Winning The World Series against the Detroit Tigers which will be a rematch of the 1908 World Series.

I'd call the Brewers a worthy rival. They won't be THE rival to the Cubs, although the Cubs might be THE rival to the Brewers. The Cardinals will always be the Cubs #1 rival. However, Chicago & Milwaukee are only 90 miles apart. When the Cubs go up to play Milwaukee they refer to Miller Park as Wrigley Field North and when the Brewers come to Wrigley there are lots of Brewers fans that make the trip too. As for Milwaukee's chances, they need better pitching, especially out of the bullpen, and better fielding, but their offense is pretty good.
And to answer the original question, of course they will!!!

They will eventually break the curse in the near future, but as long as they don't perform in clutch situations, they'll never get there. But, they will eventually get to the world series and win it all, that will be the day to see, since baseball will never end. There will be a time when each team will have at least 20 WC Titles under their belts. Hey the Red Sox did it, why not the cubs.

The "curse' is fun to talk about but talent wins championships and the Cubs are getting ever so close. Any year now and the so called "curse" will be history.

I dunno, man. I was kinda impressed w/ the Brewers & I'd like 2 c them in the playoffs next season. & 2 think, these guys haven't been a real worthy rival 2 Chicago 'cause they didn't start regularly playing against the Cubs until 1998.

I don't really believe in a curse, but I think they could win.
