Personally, I have a Guards Red 2005 997 Porsche Carrera S, and have ridden in a 997 GT3RS. Pretty exhilarating ride in the RS, and one of my favorites. I also like any RUF or Gemballa, and as many of you do, I enjoy the Carrera GT, GT2, GT3, GT1, 959, most of the classic ones, Turbos, and 356 because it was the beginning of all.

Cool thought: The Buggati Veyron uses a Volkswagon Engine, which was founded by Ferdinand Porsche, who also founded Porsche (duh). Without Porsche, the Buggati wouldn't be so great!

Favorite Porsche: So many to choose from! This is probably an area that is subject to recent experience... I recently wound up spending a good chunk of time around a 908/3; an amazing car to be sure, and the sound of that Flat-8 when udner WOT is simply amazing. And as I consider a favorite, this car does spring to mind, event though it is not a car I would normally consider among all the cars Porsche has made (even though is so many ways, it is a perfect example of everything that makes these cars wonderful). But that said, I would probably need to look towards two other cars from the same era (taking a favorite street car, and a favorite race car): for the street, the 2.8L 911 RSR as some of these were sold as street cars. All these years later, it still remains the target for many of the R-Gruppe cars around today! For the track, I have a hard time NOT picking the 917/30, but for pure versitility and success, it would have to be the 956/962.

What I own: At present a mid-80s 3.2L Carrera, which is mostly driven at the track... still does some time on the street though. Fun car, and an absolute blast to drive (a challenge to drive at the limit, which makes it even funner).

Coolest as driver: GT3RS, GT2, 997S, 996 Turbo, 993 Turbo S, 930, 911RS, 959, 550.
Coolest as a passenger: GT3RSR, 908, 964RS.
And a variety of extremely non-stock 911s and 914s.

Also, as a note on Buggati... Ferdinand Porsche designed the VW Bug, and his son founded the current car company with their name. Buggati though was already a legendary name by the time Porsche was founded! If you are looking for a direct connection, consider instead that VW owns the rights to the Buggati name, and under it produces the current Buggati cars... and Porsche is the majority shareholder of VW.

My favorite street porsche of all time is the 993 911 GT2 clubsport. Such an amazing/pure machine. Some of the 962 road conversions are up there too. A group C car for the road is so nuts.

As for race cars, I cant pick between the various 917s and the 935 moby dick. both were just so beyond insane.

I own a 1987 guards red 930 turbo and a 2003 indian red 996 GT2. The GT2 has RUF exhaust, exterior carbon package, euro-GT3 seats, techquipment cage, and a set of hoosiers (for the track). Such a brutal/fast car.

And the Veyron actually doesnt use an evolution of the air cooled flat 4 motor. VW stopped using that motor quite a long time ago. The veyron uses a quad turbo W16 really unlike any other motor in the world.
