Post-materialism is an aspect of post-scarcity.
Specifically, it refers to the philosophy that does not measure status or success by material possessions -- meaning that status and success need to be measured by some other means.
And as a part of a post-scarcity model -- material possessions don't occupy people's attentions because such possessions are no longer goals -- meaning that other goals become more important.
