ok..do you this is a good idea to have a BLACK RIBBON put across PORTER'S DRESSING ROOM DOOR at the opry?
the great MARTY ROBBINS once shared that room with porter and now that they are both singing in HILLBILLY HEAVEN , it should be RETIRE i think. I spoke with a few of my friends and a few ARTIST last night about seeing if we can have this done..what do you think?

I think the door should have a brass plaque above it that reads "Robbins/Wagoner Memorial Dressing Room." There should be pictures of Marty and Porter facing each other on opposite walls, and they should be GLUED and NAILED to those walls. That-a-way, guys like this little powderpuff who told Stonewall Jackson he's "too country" wouldn't be able to pull those pictures down for thinking Marty and Porter were "too country" as well.

And if their memories are ever forgotten or considered stale, may Marty and Porter have permission to HAUNT the Opry!

I like your whole idea! I realize that dressing rooms are scarce, but a black ribbon on, not blocking the door, shows our great respect for a truly great man! There could be a ceremony in which some classic artists would remove the ribbon, and put it in a display case. He would have wanted life to go on in it's normal way at the Grand Ole Opry. The plaque over the doorway touches my heart. God Bless that wonderful man!

I don't think that closing the door off is necessary but some plaque in the room stating what you said would be nice. The need for the the dressing rooms is just too great to seal it off and not use it. If they didn't use it for a dressing room they might be tempted to use it for storage which would NOT be a good thing. The black ribbon across the door for a specified time would be a great idea though.

A Plaque would probably be enough. Because from the stage to the break room there are not that many dressing rooms there on the left! If they start closing dressing rooms they would soon run out of rooms!

yeah, great idea, till some "better than you" (Chance's are they don't know who Porter or Marty is), DEMANDS the dressing room, because they are the "STAR" of the show !!!

(sorta sucks, don't it)

*most "opry" stars today does'nt even know what the "circle" means!!!
