Depends upon your attachment to your desires and passions. Working toward goals is very fulfilling, but if you're attached to reaching these goals in your particular way, this can lead to suffering when what you want doesn't come.

Desires and passions are never deep rooted. Then can't be obstacle, nor does it help solving problems! To solve a problem, we need to cut it in bits and pieces and look at it for how it became a problem in the first place. Take something simple :: your coffee maker don't work this morning? What's the first thing you do? Is it plugged in? Have you put water? Hve you clean it lately? and on... you'll find out the problem...

I suppose my desires and passions are wants, not actual needs or necessities. Needs seem so minimal and un-exciting.

When I think about what I merely need, it a little depressing. I really have to dwell on what I want out of life to be my happy fun loving self.

To be fulfilled I want my desires and passions met. To me, strength and determination come from desire and passionate emotion. So knowing and understanding my true desire and passion is a blessing toward fulfilling my needs. lol - I need to be passionate about life.

don't put them away-put your desires should be in your mind, and your passions in your body. never forget them. One of them will be extremely useful some day.
