French. I speak a little Spanish, which I keep fresh from 4 yrs. of hi school classes, 2 college courses, & watching Univision, Azteca America, & Telefutura, & listening 2 the many Tejano or mariachi stations here in Bakersfield. Also, I'm a 2nd-generation Filipino-American, but I'm a bit hesitant 2 learn Tagalog because it doesn't sound "prettier" then Spanish, French, or English.

Russian! I have several on line friends in St. Petersburg. I feel so ashamed I cannot write to them in Russian. The Cirilic is a major hinderance for me. But I try to make some Russian words in English part of conversations even if nothing more than Nyet or Da. At least that effort expresses a desire to communicate on their terms. My common interest with my Russian friends was Ferrets. Increasing popularity there. Since the demise of the Soviet Union, Russians have become very dedicated pet owners. And my common interests with them have really grown. I highly recommend to everyone to get some contacts with people in other countries and explore. I am so jealous of their abilities to learn and master my language.

It's a toss-up between French and Spanish.
I actually took French in college. But that was 11 years ago. I've forgotten it now. *lol* I took French so that I could try to impress chicks.
I wish I could speak Spanish because where I live, being bi-lingual makes you marketable as far as jobs go. Plus, there are some beautiful Latino chicks around my way. I would certainly try to holler at some of them if I was fluent in Spanish.

Spanish because we get a lot of Mexican immigrants in my workplace (they work at the farms nearby) and I wish I could understand what they were saying sometimes. But I took French in high school. I have a friend that speaks Spanish and is a cashier in the store I work at though. They were saying all sorts of stuff about her in Spanish while she was waiting on them one day. Stuff about how she was a dumb blond and some comments I wont list on here (shes a very pretty girl). She understood every word because shes fluent in Spanish and when she gave them back their change, she counted it back to them in Spanish and told them to "Have a nice day. Come again" in Spanish. Their faces dropped like stones and they hightailed it out of there. She got a good laugh out of it.

Spanish and the American Sign Language. Spanish because It's besides English the most spoken language in the US and American Sign Language because there is a strong need for people who can interpret for the police, medical personal and other's who can't communitcate with the deaf, hard of hearing and people who are mute.
