To say "I want" is an immediate relinquishment of happiness. Now happiness becomes dependent upon getting what "I want". A want is a lack. Abundance is always being thankful for what we have. This brings more of what we have, not what we "want".

Yes, it's human nature to want more. Seeking out and obtaining such wants is what helps fuel one's will to live. (Such wants do not always have to be material/tangible in nature.) How to balance those unlimited individual wants with finite resources for all within civilization is the real question.
It is also necessary to NEED more, such as more food and water, for one's own survival.

Having, wanting more is so materialistic. My happiness comes from within and from the interactions I create with others. It doesn't have anything to do with more or less of ??? Because that which I care about can be created by myself and those I choose to involve.

No.
Right now I want less from everything.
Is like the Modern Architecture slogan: Less is more. I'm a believer.

If it is a material thing, no, for that does not bring with it only momentary happiness, and responsibility. as for love , I crave to have time and health to enjoy it .
