I don't think it was the Yankees who stole the headlines, it was A-Rod and his Agent, Boras, they deserve all the blame, the Yankees were going to offer him an extension and before they could he Opted Out, it was a surprise to everyone. Clearly, it as Scott Boras' fault and not the Yankees

Im not a Yankee or Red Sox fan, BUT, last nite Boras and Arod made the most Classless move ever. The idiots had to announce A Rod was opting out of his contract, during a world series game, when all the focus should have been on the game! I really dont give a crap if he opts out and doesn't want to play in NY anymore.... just take your ball and go home!

The Yankees didn't steal the headline, it was A-Rod and his agent who annnounced that A-Rod had opted out, during the World Series. The Yankees still haven't officially made the Girardi announcement yet.

Speaking literally ... go to newseum.org, and take a look at the front pages of newspapers across the country.
Only the New York papers devoted space to A-Rod.
Of course, many newspapers couldn't get the final score in the paper because of the late hour, but that's another subject.
